FS: Mitsubishi 2040u 22" Display [dead?]

My 4 year old, 22" Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2040u Diamondtron NF monitor has gone on the fritz. Went dark with no warning Sunday eve past.

I believe it's an input signal problem; the LED green remains on for ±14secs, then clicks to amber for ±3secs then back to green. Display remains black. Tried different vidcard, BNC cable, PC. Power cord is built into chassis.

Cosmetically perfect.. no scratches.

Anyway, I'm selling it. I suppose a monitor geek might be able to tweak this puppy or perhaps just replace a part and have a pretty nice refurbished monitor to sell or keep. Use for spare parts, maybe. Original manual only included.

Selling for $100, plus shipping. Weight unpackaged: 68.3# from zip code 91303.

Please don't crap on my thread if you aren't interested [or you may find your post gone ]. If you are interested in purchasing, please PM or email me so we can work out details.

Product is sold AS-IS . Will be shipped without insurance but with tracking. I will shipped insured [or any other way you wish] at your request and expense. Any questions, feel free to post or PM/email.

My Heatware

Thanks for looking.

ill give you a bump socalgal, sounds like a common problem with monitors, im good friends with a "monitor guy." and odds are extremely high that this problem can be fixed for less than 50 bucks at your local monitor shop.

150 bucks for a flawless 22" incher is a dang good deal IMO wish i had another 22" er to match it because id be all over your deal socalgal

Actually, I'm going to make some local calls today to see if I can salvage it rather inexpensively. So, this offer could change at any time.

Thanks, DPA And YGPM.

Hi cmd~

Sorry to hear it happened to you, too!

No.. Couldn't find anyone to even look at it, unless I wanted to cart it 30 miles plus I didn't want to pay for labor on a 'maybe'. Then I figured even if that got fixed, something else would die on it, considering this happened.

I ended up trashing it just this past week Bought a Sony Mulitscan E540 from Newegg with which I'm quite happy. This display has much better white contrast than the Mitsu ever did.

I even have a 5yo 15" Sony Vaio that's still as good as the day I bought it. I'll never buy a monitor other than Sony again.

Sounds like Mitsubishi uses the 4 year, 'built-in obsolesence' feature. Pretty sad for a $1100+ monitor, if you ask me...

Aw, sorry to hear that. I loved the Mitsu -- got such a great deal on it at the time, too. Glad your happy with your new Sony. I'm still checking out my options.

Yeah, the Mitsu was pretty nice but I still like Sony better.

I wish you the best of luck in salvaging it. If you do, please post back to let us know by whom/where it was repaired and what was wrong?

Thanks!
