I think most people would say Windows XP for home use and Windows 2000 for business.

I agree mostly

Win 2000
- more powerful for some network setups
- better for running some games especially on slower systems
- some say it is a bit more stable than XP

Win XP
- easier to use for the most part
- a bit faster especially on start up and things like that

I've used all of the windows OS's to some degree and I use XP Pro at home right now and IMO I feel it is the best windows has to date.

What makes Windows 2000 more superior to Windows XP for business?

XP is just as good or perhaps better than Windows 2000 especially for business because it has easier recovery features and more reliable detection for new hardware. And let's not forget the application compatibiity feature that truely works vs. Windows 2000's appcompat.exe on the CD.

As far as the eyecandy goes, you can turn it off which will give you the features of XP with the light GUI of Windows 2000. However, to be honest with you, with today's systems, the difference is undetectable with the eyecandy ON as long as you have the Fade Options and Slide Options disabled...

Many people say Windows XP requires more power than Windows 2000 which is slightly true. However, the difference is almost undetectable. As long as you have 384MB+ RAM and a processor running at least 450Mhz, it will run very nicely...

XP seems to start up faster but it's just that it loads the desktop before it finishes loading, instead of waiting to load the desktop till it's finished (or at least thats what i've heard)
