WTB: Decent Laptop ($400-$500) and 40gb 7200rpm ide hdd ($35 shipped or less)

A friend of mine is looking for a decent laptop, but with her budget in mind ($400-$500). Here's what she's looking for:

- It needs to be at least 450mhz or faster
- have a battery with a decent "life"
- laptop must be in good condition (no dead pixels, not much, if any physical marks, etc.)
- must have cdrom, floppy (both can be removable, do not have to be built-in)
- must have touchpad

That's about all I can think of off the top of my head right now. Let me know what you have, she is wanting to use this for school, so I'd like to get the laptop for her soon.

One more thing -- the laptop can't have a bad/non-functioning LCD or anything like that (missing keys, etc.)

It is in EXCELLENT condition, and i am only selling it cause I NEVER use it. I am a single mom and need the money for my daughter's college tuition. I would sell it for $450.00 shipped first class (USA Only). I would prefer NOT to go thru Half.com or Ebay, as they take up to 15-20% in fees. You can see by my feedback on that site, I am an honest seller. I see that there is a site that ..well... that it is 'suggested' I join before I am considered 'safe' to buy from.I would have no problem with that, pending my reading the site fine print.

As far as the Hard drive... well I think I have one floating around here somewhere, but I don't think it it is 7200. I am almost sure it is 5400rpm. Let me know if you are interested.

I have LOADS of spare puter parts that I will be looking to sell as soon as I re-read the rules and regs of this site.

i have NO idea why you posted that link. It was nonsensical. The laptop invilved is almost new... comes with a brand new external cd burner, and many upgrades.
