Shahani:

I'm potentially interested in one of these depending on whether they are rebadged and by who.

Do you know?

Thanks,
Dana

Probably rebadged but don't know the brands. They are unopened. Only on installing can one find out from the BIOS posting.

Hey Shahani, I recently got a Khypermedia 48x drive and it had Nero with it. Maybe yours does too?

G/L!

Shahani:

Still considering one of these. Do either/both have buffer underrun protection? (Tried to research this online, but didn't have much success. Maybe the box says.)

Thanks,
Dana

I can tell you the micro advantage does have good buffer underun protection and it is also capable of reading and writing in raw mode...I bought one not too long ago and was very satisfied with its performance...There is no guarantee that they did not rebadge a different brand as well and that it could be another brand but ALL CDRW's from like 32x or even older have one form or another of buffer underun protection...that is not the issue normally...what most people are concerned about now is the ability to read/write in raw mode.
Most drives are pretty well made anymore.
The majority of the rebadged CDRW's are either Liteon and quite a few are Aopen brand.
Shahani is a great trader and good guy to deal with!

I'm willing to bet it's a Lite-On.

Okay, I'm sold. I'm leaning towards the Micro Advantage; does anyone have any strong thoughts/feelings?

Regards,
Dana
