I don't have a stock AMD fan, but it is a coolermaster fan/heatsink that will work on a AMD CPU. Still in great condition, only used it about a month. Your more than welcome to it.

My question...why would any of you want to get rid of your fan that came w/ your CPU? That means no warranty...

Because i upgraded to a bigger h/s so no longer need this one. Have you heard of anybody needing the warranty if using your pc under normal conditions and not overclocking. I haven't.

I've upgraded mine to a Volcano 11 w/ Ducting Mod. Yeah, I have...it's called me.....I can't overclock because the chip that I bought can't do jack really. I mean I can overclock but, not very well with it. The chip is a really bad o/c'er. I am lucky if I can get it up even 75mhz.

And Jim...you didn't get one because you bought an OEM processor and not a retail. The OEM doesn't have a warranty provided by AMD only sometimes a warranty with the place you bought it from which is most of the time 30 days.

Actually my CPU was retail, I replaced the stock hsf because I thought it was making too much noise, but it wasn't the stock hsf so I put it back in and now I have this extra one.

Well my system would not run stable with the stock fan. It would lock up and Windows Xp could not install without crashing. Was told need to change the H/S and fan, so I did and not had a problem since. Embj you mentioned before why sell it voids warranty, but you said you changed too. I'm confused. And you mentioned overclocking too. Under NORMAL conditions CPU should be fine even without stock h/s. But in my case it didn't work well with stock.

Yes, I did mention that I changed out the hs/f. I did this when installing it for the first time. I have never used the original fan. Yes, I know it voids the warranty if you don't use it or if you overclock it. They won't know if you don't use it or if you overclock it and put it back at stock speed. Heck, if you ever need to send it in just pull off the thermal pad and boom...they don't know...How do I know this? I had to send back my XP 2600 once. Well, to return it you need the stock hs/f.
