200Gb Maxtor 8mb FDB drive for sale..one only!

I have a brand new retail box Maxtor 200Gb 7200 rpm 8M cache hard drive for sale.

This is the cool one that comes with the seperate ATA 133 PCI card.

Also has the "FDB" Fluid Dynamic Bearing so it should be really quiet.

Neweggs price is $296 and Dell is $293 (plus shipping?)

Lowest pricewatch is $226 for the BARE DRIVE from the shady dealers, lol.

Ill let mine go for $160 plus $10 for priority usps shipping. Thats 85 cents/gbyte plus the ATA133 card.

First come first serve cuz I only have one of these.

Heatware = "John Prophet"

MO preferred.

Thanks, JP

Well, let me try to sell it the way it is first and if it doesnt sell then maybe Ill consider that...though to be honest I cant see coming down on it all that much anyway. And, no, unfortunately I dont take paypal.

The ATA133 card is required unless you have w2000 sp3 or XP sp1...or possibly you could just partition it as two or more partitions so that you wouldnt exceed the 137g size limit.

Well, as far as it being S-ATA...my gut feeling is that it is not.

If you look at maxtors site it seems to say that the DiamondMax9 series IS S-ATA as well as ATA...but if you look at Dells site it doesnt say anything about S-ATA.

So I assume it is not S-ata....if it is then someone will get a nice surprise...but Im not gonna open the box to find out! lol.

(long drawn out bump)

OK, sorry I have to withdraw the offer altogether, hehe.

The drive had a rebate (naturally) but when I recieved the drive it had no invoice to use as a rebate proof of purchase...it only had a packing slip which had the wrong dates etc.

So when I called back to Dell to have them send me another invoive, it turns out that I wasnt billed for the drive AT ALL..and that they had cancelled the order but it was miscommunicated and I still got the drive, hehe.

Anyway, I am doing the right thing and letting them come pick it up.

I asked if they could simply charge me the cost of the drive minus the rebate but, no go.

I guess I could have simply hung up, lol.

Anyway, luckily no one jumped on the drive.

Sorry for the trouble.
