I'm looking for a LEGAL version... Full, preferably on CD with license included.

Let me know.

If nobody else offers any to you, you could try www.pricewatch.com, up top click the software link, then click the operating system link. I see lots of offers of COA/Manual/No media for under $50.... like these:

http://www.tekhwy.com/tek9.asp?pg=pr...cific=jnmqfri0
http://store.yahoo.com/swdeals/micwin98mana.html

And howdy to you, welcome to TechIMO.

(OOps, legenps got here before me)

I have a few quesitons about those deals that have a COA and manual but no media.

1. How do you get the software?
2. What do you do if you need to reformat the hard drive? How do you get the OS back after?

you could copy someone else Windwos 98 cd which is completely legal if you got a COA for it as in reformatting your hard drive as long as you got the cd it doesn't matter

If you still are looking for a win98 please email me at kingbee@cogeco.ca. I probably have what you want and would consider cash or trade.
Is that win98 or win98se?
thanks

I have always wondered the same thing about the 'no media' solutions that I have seen, and for all the computer people I have asked in the 3 companies where I have asked the question, the responses are so aloof, you'd think the software was totally free to them. I believe their general answer is that both the CofA and the EULA together make a legal installation of the OS, so the source of supply appears to make no difference.... floppies are just as ok as CDROMs, in the answers I got. Yet then again, there is that hologram inside the center ring of the W98SE Update CD I got, that says not to.......
