I am sort of interested. How does the adjustable fan control work with that fan? Does it increase as the CPU temp goes higher?

Yeah, it has manual, automatic, and the default speed. You just plug in the controller and spin the dial up or down for the manual. For the automatic you just hook up a temp sensor to the bottom side of the CPU and it increases and decreases as the CPU temps rise and fall. The default you just plug in a jumper and let it run at 4800rpm.

What did you put on it? Pad or paste? Cause i heard if you put either on, you have to stick with that since it gets into the 'pores' of the hs

I put on Artic Silver III. It really doesn't matter because I have a few fans that had a pad on it and I just applied the paste and it worked fine.

I guess there is a dial on the side of the fan. Do you know how well the automatic feature works ? Is it pretty noisy at 4800?
Thanks

at 4800 rpm it sounds like your case is going to take off, but given that you don't OC to the sky, and keep a pretty decent cpu under it, it shouldn't have to run but at around 3000, and if you use a soft cpu cooler, it goes practically silent.
I liked it except when i started gaming heavily (as it gets louder from heat), but this was easily counteracted by turning up the speakers |

The automatic feature works very good. It is very noisy at 4800 but, w/ the automatic it rarely gets that high. At 4800 it is 48dba. At 1300 it is 17dba. No the dial is not on the side of the fan. You hook up a cable that has the dial on it and you can run it out the side of your case.
