You can go to your local CompUSA and pick up an ATI AIW 8500 128 meg for $150 AR, sale ends Saturday. It'd be cheaper if you bought a TV tuner and then get a video card upgrades, this way you do'nt have to keep getting the AIW all the time and just upgrade the video card to match your needs.

that may be true except for the fact that the 8500 is not PCI. which is exactly what i need. The best PCI vid-card I could find was the AIW 7500.

Sorry! I guess I missed PCI, your computer doesn't have an AGP slot?

Well this is why i want PCI, i have a 9700 TX in the AGP slot with 2 monitors running, i want to throw in a good PCI vid card so i can run triple monitor, and i want a TV tuner so i can get rid of my TV.

Sounds like a good plan, Damien:

I love the TV tuner feature on my original AIW Radeon 32MB. But it's time to upgrade. I plan on scraping together $$ to scoop up the CompUSA deal on the AIW 8500.

But I was curious - do you anticipate any probs getting the PCI vid card to work with the dual monitor setup that you already have? I've heard that these setups can be pretty tricky. Thanks.

Oh, and what is the "TX" designation on the 9700 that you're running now??

As of right now i don't see a problem with setting it up this way, i have been reading a bunch on it and if i use the first PCI slot it should work.

and the TX i believe just designates that it is a regular 9700 not the AIW.
