Anyone heard of one of these ?

A friend of mine just sent me an e-mail asking if I can acquire a:

DIO-8 Interface Card for HDR 24/96 MackieDiscRecorder

I don't even know what it is, but before Googling I thought I would post here as TechIMO is more effective !

Any help appreciated.

That's an 8 in, 8 out digital interface card for a 24 channel digital hard disk audio recorder. It's made by Mackie and the DIO-8 is one of the input/output options. They kinda go in like a PCI computer card.

Spendy and high-endy, for sure. I have a couple of their audio mixers. Worth every dime. The manufacturer is here Mackie

(Edited for horrible typing...)

CBB, what it actually is is just the interface card (the digital signal gozintas and gozoutas) for the recorder.

As for getting one in the UK, your best bet is to hunt down the professional audio equipment dealers there. These will be the places that recording studios, sound reinforcement, and theatrical companies buy their equipment.

I didn't check, but sometimes they'll list distributors in various parts of the world on the manufacturer's website.

Oh, and fyxxer, with enough coffee, sure I can say that quick ten times!

"thatthatthatthatthatthatthatthatthatthat"

See???
