FS: Used 1.5 P4 & A-open
I have a buddy here with me, and he just purchased a brand new 2000+ to replace his (aging... laugh) 1.5Ghz Pentium 4. It has a massive Coolermaster Heatsink that is shortly put, too dang good for a 1.5. Runs around 30-35 Degrees Celcius, and the motherboard can easily OC to 1.7 (if you cannot tell, he tried for 1 3DMark run) Also has 512MB (2X256) of Crucial PC133, brand new RAM. This RAM was purchased about 1 month ago.
All of this on an A-open AX4BS motherboard. This has no retail box, drivers, or CD with it. Drivers will be placed on a CDR, or if you prefer, can easily be found at A-Open.com (or aopen.com)
He is asking 200$ as there is nothing wrong with this setup, being the only failure in it, was that it grounded out a couple of times, but was easily fixed by placing silicon wafers under the motherboard at the screw sites.
PM me if you are interested. If the 200$ cannot be met, a deal can be worked out by possibility of trading or straight up negotiation.
I am fully responsible for his product and any problems are to be taken up with me, because there is no scam about to take place here. Thanks a lot!

I'm interested in this machine. (I'm on a 350- you can tell him what an 'aging' machine is like! I let it run 5 minutes before doing anything so the fans can run without making droning sounds. ) I do have a few questions though.
How big of a power supply? Also, what style and size case?
What kind/size drives are in it? What type of video card, sound card, NIC, etc?
Does any software (OS, etc) come with it?
Is the $200 shipped or is shipping extra?
Do you have HeatWare?
I would think that grounding out a mobo would be a bad thing- has it run OK since?

this doesn't come with a case, PSU, CDROM, or anything else not listed. This is just for a Motherboard/CPU/RAM combo.
The grounding out didn't do anything but caused it to restart without warning twice in a row. It was quickly solved as a situation, and works fine.
Im sure that you can get some of the peripherals to work from your 350 on this until you can afford/find a HD and video card to match up with this set.
Thanks for asking though!

Which Aopen AX4BS? I find four variations on their site.
AX4BS - (avail w or w/o optional lan onboard?)
AX4BS-Pro
AX4BS-V
References?
...and if your location of "cowtown, misery" = Missouri, how close to St L. are you?

Im in relative closeness to kansas City, and for the version of it, it is just the straight up AX4BS without onboard lan. it has onboard sound, and the other "normal" peripherals.
thanks!
