FS Pacific Digital 32x external burner with usb 2.0 card

Brand new, unopened box.

Pacific Digital 32x12x48x External burner WITH usb 2 PCI card.

Its black in a black case.

Link http://www.pacificdigital.com/products/321248usb.htm

Supported formats CD-DA, CD-ROM, CD-ROM XA (both Photo CD and Video CD), CD-I, CD-Digital, CD-Bridge, Audio CD, Karaoke CD, CD-Extra and Video CD

Sell for $100 plus whatever shipping is to you by ups.

Will take money order from bank or post office. (It weighs about 15 lbs or so, heavier than it looks!)

I had two of these and the first one sold right away in the local newspaper so I doubt I will drop the price to under $100.

Let me know, JP

is this one where you have to use the software that comes in the package, or can you use proprietary software like Nero? I'm only asking b/c with my grandma's pacific digital (24x) burner, she HAD to use the software that came with the burner, and nothing else

Possible interest.

To be totally honest, I have no clue. I looked at the pdf data sheet http://www.pacificdigital.com/produc...eet/32XUSB.pdf and it says it comes with "the award Winning Oak SimpliCD burning bundle 6.2".

In a way you would think that an external burner might be a little more finicky about software than an internal burner.

I will post that up as a question and see if anyone has a clue.

I used this drive. Very heavy and solid looking and the SimpliCD is OK with all basic features but not as comprehensive as Nero or Roxio. As long as you have a USB 2 port/card and load the USB 2 drivers from the CD which come with the drive, you're all set to rock 'n' roll with any third party software.

Seems the general opinion is that Nero and other stuff will work ok.
