Have you been able to update the bios on the mobo?
Does Asus show that mobo on its site?
thanks

havent searched asus site for mobo, I remember being told it was an asus board then later confirmed it and I even had the exact model number at one time but cant recall it, It was a while ago.

I was just recently asked a question about the bios update on another forum where I have the setup posted, and i am curious,

what benefit is there to updating the bios?

i know there is probably a ton of overclocking features in there "you know asus" but havent had it confirmed.

also when I do hop into the bios I notice when I highlight certain items it says something like these options are only available by the system adminstrator, but it is stuff like processor code?
I have administrative rights to the bios since I flashed it, but havent seen any new options, maybe I need to set an administrative passowrd then log in with that password?

I have some spare time so I will research as much as I can on the hp forums

the bios is the second to the newest version,
no real benifits to upgrading since the update only appears to fix problems this board doesnt have

For what it's worth, the Intel 815 chipset (which is what this board is built around) only supports a max of 512 megs of RAM, which may be why you had problems trying to get it to work with more

Sweet looking machine! I'm writing this on something quite similar internally, but it doesn't look anywhere near as good!!
