<< Needed 1.5 in x 1/5 in fans >>

Tailed or untailed, prefer untailed.
I only need one right now but I will need more down the road so I thought I would see if anyone here has any 4 sale or if they know of a website selling them I would appreciate knowing the url. These fans fit those 5 1/4 removable hard drive units. The units I have, the fans go every few years. Noisy little beasts, I put graphite and oil on them and they last another 6 months.
I would take a half dozen to a dozen depending on the price. I am a cheap pr..k, lol!!!

Thanks

email me at kingbee@cogeco.ca if you want. If you do please give me your forum nickname and the name of your forum as I have this in 2 places.

Try www.nexfan.com
all fans are measured in metric, you know millimeters.

thanks Elroy

They are on sale for 3.95, that is the cheapest I have ever seen for that size.

Thanks dunbar,
I somehow got on there mailing list about 3 years ago and have been receiving there cats ever since.
One of the beauties of internet shopping, quick product and price comparisons and a whole lot more shelf space in the office.

I have one of their catalogues at home. It is just as confusing to me as the net version!!
You really gotta know your stuff, very techical. It's even harder when you dont know the name of some little part.
Course this stuff is meant for people who really know what they doing! Not for me!!

I wonder if anyone could direct me to a page showing a 1.5 in x 1.5 in fan? I believe thats 40x40 in mm.

The fan I want goes in a removable drive unit. There are some websites selling the whole unit cheaper than the fan or the same price, problem is shipping is pretty expensive when all you need is the fan.

These fans are $9.95 at Radio Shack. I can buy a whole removable unit, shipping included for that price!!
Even the lowest price I have found so far, $3.95 seems a tad high for a dinky little fan. But that comes from not realizing the manufacturing business maybe.
Sometimes you see a product selling for a dollar and you wonder how the heck they can produce that thing and make a profit when it retails for only a dollar, that means the manufacturer got probably 10 cents or less for the part in the first place! Not so at $3.95 though, I think there could be some gouging going on there but its only a guess.

Anyway, wish I could find one less than $3.95, I would prolly buy a dozen so I dont have to go thru this again. Those fans for the removable drive units are notorious for going bad. Course that might stem from buying the cheap units rather than the expensive units. But ya never know, you could buy a removable for $50 and still get the same fan!!

The average price on the 40mmx40mm fans seems to be about $5.00.
You said they were $10.00 at radio shack so I would think at $3.95 / 60% off these would be a good buy.
Can't think of any place less expensive.

Well, I am a preap chick, no harm in trying. This place has them on sale at the $3.95 price, guess I better head over there and get some before they're gonzo!
Thanks for the info, guys!
