Need AC adapter

I need an AC adapter for a Compaq Lite 4/25e laptop. It's for a friend who got the lappy for a buck, so $65 at a reseller just ain't gonna get it. If anyone has one or knows where to get one cheap, please let me know.

there is this cool white one at radioshack, that comes with 6 different heads.. it was cheap... and really useful

I don't know if this will do it. I keep seeing the specific Compaq adapter for at least $65. They surely wouldn't just slap a huge price tag on a regular old AC adapter.

I haven't seen the laptop, does anyone know if a standard adapter will work?

well, they do have a little weener box attachedd to them.. but.. shrug i'd try anything before paying 65+ for a freaking ac adapter..

well? you should look at the laptop first.
it might be an easy you just need that funkey 2 prong cable for it. my compaq lte just uses one of thoes. (but its a 386)
if it comes down to it take the sucker to radio shack and ask if you can test out an adapter.

mmm yeah - they sometimes have the 2 prongones, well - older ones.

Thanks for the help, I'm going to send her to the Shack. It's just a one prong. If they say it's something special, maybe I'll come back and bump the thread.

We need some electrical specs;

Like 14v @ 2200 ma

See if you can get some more data, at the very least we need the voltage, you can overkill on the amperage a little bit, but not on the voltage..

Looks like quite the piece of modern technology! Circa 1992, it has a 9.5 inch B&W screen and 25Mhz 386 processor. Here's a link to the laptop specs that I found. Unfortunately, there's no mention of the AC adapter specs.

If it uses the same power specs as Compaq Armada laptops, I have one almost new one for sale. Cheap.
