I wrote this description up for an auction. Email me with questions or an offer, etc. Also, keep in mind the software licenses that come with it... If you don't want them, let me know when you make an offer so if I accept I can format the hard drive, etc. Thanks! Have a great day!

That will show you the base notebook model. This notebook has only been used for two months for college and a family member just sold me his desktop and I don't need this computer anymore. It's in perfect condition and I will have it cleaned and looked-over by techs here before I send it. I will list exactly what will be included. Buyer pays for shipped of his/her choice. Must receive payment before item is shipped (check cleared, etc.) Here is a list of specs and what is included. Feel free to email me any questions you may have (srourhaz@notes.udayton.edu) or even call me at (937) 627-5737. The notebook is perfect for all sorts of business, personal, and gaming applications. Also, THIS IS MADE OF HIGH QUALITY STUFF. The other ads out there with seemingly fast processors and such... they are cheaper because they are not the latest chipsets. This is the 845 chipset and it is mobile. You can actually use this computer on a battery for a long time. The cheaper computers don't have the high performance on-chip cache and other additions that Intel made to the processor chipset after the 830. The other computers often have integrated graphics with shared memory... that is TERRIBLE for any graphics-intensive application and HORRIBLY SLOW. Not to mention it takes up system RAM just to display things. This laptop has dedicated graphics DDR memory. Keep in mind that all of the components are top of the line (really top of the line, not just in the numbers). Here are the specs:
Tangent Shuttle 7700
-Intel P4-m 1.6GHz w/ 400MHz system bus
-512MB DDR-SDRAM (1Gig max, easy to upgrade)
-8x/8x/4x/24x DVD/CD-RW combo drive (do pretty much everything with one drive; DVDs, CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, etc)
-3.5" disk drive
-15" SXGA+ LCD display (gorgeous)
-ATI Radeon Mobility 7500 4x AGP graphics with 128-bit 32MB DDR-SDRAM and s-video out
-40GB 5400 rpm hard drive (also easily replaced/upgraded, fastest available for laptops)
-Windows XP Professional
-hard drive is dual-partitioned for operating system and data for stability (Windows is separate from your data)
-Microsoft Office XP Pro ($350 alone, 3 disc set included)
-power adaptor and lithium ion smart battery (battery is charged and has never been used, I have only used it as a desktop, thus battery has no memory and is like new)
-laptop carry case (Targus Notepac Plus)
-integrated LAN 10/100
-integrated V.92 56k modem
-2 IEEE 1394 FIREWIRE ports (makes external upgrades a breeze; blazing speed)
-2 USB ports (makes external upgrades a breeze, plug and play, the name says it all)
-1 ps/2 port
-1 FIR (fast infrared port; connect to printers that have infrared without any cables)
-two type II or two type III PC card slots (PCMCIA)
-1 port replicator connector
-other standard ports (VGA, printer, serial, audio in/out, digital and anologue)
-internal stereo speakers and microphone w/ full duplex capability
-external volume switch with mute
-Synaptics Touchpad with 2 buttons and a scroller
-keyboard is 85/84 keys, 12 function keys, 4 launch keys
-Kensington Security slot
-all documentation and manuals, all original packaging
-retail is $3000 after taxes
-reserve is set well below retail
I will include the factory settings cd with Windows XP Pro on it. I will include the Office XP Pro set of 3 cds. I will also include the drivers cd. Unlike the no-name brands that sell for cheap on here, the Tangent has a support site where the latest drivers and support is always accessable. Remember that a laptop has its own drivers because different laptops have different components (LCD screen, etc). You can't just download drivers from the hardware provider when you are using a laptop. So, if you get a no-name, you are basically stuck with the drivers it comes with and if anything new comes out and you need "the latest drivers", you are screwed if you don't have a support structure. All of the latest drivers for the system can be downloaded from the Tangent site under "Online Support." This is an excellent system. I hesitate to part with it, but having two computers is a hassle for me. The other computer I just got has some components for gaming that I wanted. Have fun bidding! I rarely sell on auction, so I have no feedback. But basically I'm a college student and I need money more than a second computer :-) Again, contact me if you have any questions and I wish you all the best.
Honestly, the price for me depends on whether you want the software licenses. If you want them (office XP and WinXP), then I suppose $2000. If you don't, then I guess $1800. It's practically new and I'd include all of the original documentation and packaging plus it'd be cleaned and looked over by the manufacturer before I sent it. You can choose the shipping method and pay for it if you are interested. I suppose I should add this to the original posting, but I'm new to this forum stuff. Thanks for at least replying. Have a good day!
If you don't want the software licenses, I will format the hard drive completely before I send it to the buyer. The bios is flashrom if I'm not mistake so you can update it without opening up the pc (if you're into that kind of thing). I'm just trying to anticipate what people will ask. I just realized that the description I wrote above was geared towards an audience that doesn't know much about computers (which is obviously not this place). If you have any questions, email me or post on here. Thanks again!
I've never sold anything before is the thing. Is there any way to get refs or prove my sincerety if I'm new to this stuff? It pisses me off that there are people out there that screw people so that this stuff is necessary, but I agree completely that it is. I've had friends that send money and get screwed. If there is any way I can offer peace of mind while not having sold anything in the past, let me know.
(This might read as jumbled because I added later things, sorry about that.)
Contact me if interested! Email preferred, but however you want. Post any questions you might have without hesitation.
