Like the title says, I'm not selling anything, but would like to review my first ever experience buying something from a guy over the internet.
A while back, I bought a video capture card from Shahani. It arrived very quickly and well packaged. However, when I put it in my system, my system refused to recognize it. Shahani pointed me to some updated beta drivers, but they didn't work either. I thought maybe it was my install of windoze, but it didn't work with a fresh install either.
I e-mailed the tech support for the company that makes the card and got an answer- the card I had was an OEM model designed to work with a specific machine. There's no way to tell unless you try to install it in a different machine though. They pointed me to other beta drivers. These got my machine to recognize the card, but the software wouldn't start. (Gave me an 'incorrect hardware' message.) I e-mailed their tech support three more times, but was ignored.
I got back in touch with Shahani and let him know what was going on. He sent me a refund right away. I'd like to publically thank Shahani for making my first internet purchase from an individual a good one, even though the item didn't work.
