I have a pile of modems around here, some 33k,some 56k, I think all winmodems if anyone is looking. I also have a Zoom 56k external that hooks up with a parallel port. I certainly don't miss dial up days.
Noticed in the last coupla months, 56K modems have crashed in price.
ADSL modems are now on the shelf, at the same price, those dial up's were.
Pity ADSL service is three times the cost of dial up.
I have two modems one is a V.90(V.92) PCI softmodem made by modular technology w/ V.92 upgrade drivers included if you are interested in a hardware modem I have a older US Robotics V.90 ISA hardware modem don't know if there are any V.92 flash upgrades for it.
Both modems are working fine the PCI modem was bought new and used for a few weeks and have'nt had any problems with it. The US Robotics ISA modem came with a new dell system shipped late 1997 and had been upgraded to V.90 via a flash upgrade.
If you are interested the PCI modem will be $10 and the ISA will be $8 shipping(i'm assuming you're in tampa) via UPS Ground for $10 for one modem add $2.50 both.
