Finance Looking for:

A Dell Dimension 44/4500 Motherboard. I have a Dimension 4300 Pentium 1.8GHz I845 that only supports Sdram and 400FSB. I'm looking for a 44/4500 Motherboard that will atleast support DDRam. I have a Mid-Tower case, not the slim line.

Thanks,
Sweeper

Sweeper, if you want to get rid of your existing board (when you find the one you want), please let me know. I'm interested.

Good Companion, when or if I can find a new MB I will let you know. I will be selling the board I have now along with 512MB PC133 CRUCIAL Sdram. Not sure on the price until I find a new board.

Sweeper:

Thanks for the consideration. I've got some SDRAM sitting around I would throw in as well.

Thanks,

Dana

Sweeper:
Haven't noticed if that's a standard mATX board. Seems like there
is something proprietary about that Dell setup. I know the PS is
only 250 watts, and the cooling for the CPU is ducted from the outside via a rear-mounted 80mm fan - to reduce noise. ( They do
make some quiet machines).

Well from what I can tell, the 43/4400 motherboards are very similar. They are proprietary and do have the ducted air. But as for the boards they both are the same size but the 4400 runs the DDRam rather than the SDram. The only problem I see is I might have to order the ribbon cable that comes from the front of the case, unless I can get it to fit. They are in different areas and the 4300 ribbon cable I have might be to short. But, I would like to find a 4400 or 4500 board to try.

Here is what my 4300 looks like. I am looking for the I845D (I believe) that is the DDR board without onboard LAN or SOUND.
