info needed for a for sale listing/or EBAY

We have a donated Inspiron 1545 that would "look" nice if someone had not broken the lcd screen and damaged the bezel. Prior to its donation, the hard drive was removed. I connected it to an auxiliary monitor and it boots to BIOS just fine. I then swapped in a SATA drive and that was recognized also. Since we don't have anyone with the expertise to make this unit useful, I would like to list it for sale or place it on EBAY. I would appreciate advice on what venue to use for listing (url?) if not EBAY. We will be selling it minus a hard drive.

For broke, parts only type sales eBay is generally the best place I can think of. Craigslist is always good, any tech forum or traders forum might work as well. Just one thing that comes to mind right off since you mention this as a donated item. If you plan on listing any items on any site as "for charity" or for whatever cause make sure you check and re-check the sites rules on those postings. Some places are pretty strict on there listings of that nature. If you are just selling it outright (not mentioning your cause) then you are generally ok.

In any listing you'll also want to describe in as much detail as possible what is wrong and what is missing. Just as you did above, I'd make sure you add in something like for parts only and all sales final. Just so any buyer is clear on that and it causes a few less headaches.
