What is this worth?

I have someone who wants to sell me a 40 gig WD400 hard drive and also a G-Force 2 64meg DDR pci video card with built-on fan. I have no idea what its worth. Both are between 3-4 yrs old. How much they were used, I do not know, I will be testing them tonight in my spare computer. She wants an offer, but I have no clue... Thanks for any advise. BTW, right now, I have a main computer with 512 megs of DDR2 ram with 64 megs of shared onboard video, my other computer has a Diamond Stealth 3 s540 32 meg AGP card. She also has a 17" color monitor, but is is not flat screen its the big type, forgot what its called CRS maybe? It works fine, I seen it run last night, but the other stuff I must test with SiSoft Sandra in my spare computer. Thanks

at 50% of value, which would be generous, you are looking in the $40 range for both, $30 would be more realistic.

Yep 50% drop as soon as you buy it new, then it goes down from there.

well, i would say the video card would be worth less than half because it is quite old, however, hard drives seem to retain their value better, so i would agree with the $30-$40 quote above

I noticed that the card you are considering is a PCI type. I suggest that you get your monitor and try this system with the AGP card you have. The AMD K7 CPU system is not going to be suitable for games but should have enough power for internet/e-mail/word processing type stuff. As long as the video you get is clean and easy on the eyes you should be good to go.

BTW, hard drives are pretty cheap these days. Watch the specials.
