WTB Slot load IDE DVD Drive

I'm looking for a slot load dvd drive. Black is preferred, but any color will do. Must be IDE and must function perfectly. I'm willing to pay $25 shipped. If you have one, please PM me. Thanks for looking

There are usually some on eBay, if you're lucky you will find one listed in the wrong category and get a deal. Look/search under both Pioneer and AOpen as AOpen made some under license from Pioneer. Most folks that have working ones don't want to give them up - they're just too cool...

Another option is the Plextor slot load DVD burner. Sometimes you can find them at a good deal. It's the Plextor PX-716AL - they are $99.95 AR and free shippping at Newegg right now. May be even cheaper elsewhere. Or if you don't want to wait for rebate, TigerDirect has refurbs at $99.95 straight up. I normally don't recommend (or even mention) TD, but there it is. Not sure you get the software with that as you would with a new one. You need to check.

I'm running the Pioneers in the wife and my computers. If you get a beige one, don't worry because it's real easy to paint the face of these black ( all you have to do is protect the "fuzz" that keeps the incoming dvd's clean ). Other than that, they just snap right off with no fuss.

Pioneer is the 106s , probably a couple of numbers after that for newer versions, but the 16x line were 106s'.
