Home Depot sells cat 5e.

BTW, 50 ft is not considered long. You can run a cat 5 cable 350 ft without a prob.

usually " long" is considered over the standard 6-7' lengths you typically see at most brick and Mortar stores...
Longer cat5 cable can be hard to find and ridiculously expensive in a store

Really, I buy 25' all the time (buy.com) for less than 10 bucks. Here is a 50' for 12 bucks. http://www.buy.com/retail/searchresu...9&qu=cat5&loc=

When I need a longer one, I can crimp them myself. When I wired my house I ran the wires through the walls, put jacks on the walls and home run the wires to a central box.

Home Depot carries bulk length of CAT5 cable. I think its about $.30 a foot or so. They also carry rolls upto 500ft. good luck!
