WTB: Mobo and CPU

Here are my current system specs

Intel Pentium III 500Mhz
384MB PC100 Registered ECC RAM
8MB nVida Vanta AGP Card
Aureal Vortex 2 8830 Sound Card
Dynalink USB 2.0 4 Port Add-On
Askey/DynaLink TView99 TV Tuner
Netgear FA311 Ethernet Adaptor
Toshiba 8x DVD-RW Drive
Iomega Zip100
Maxtor 40GB
Maxtor 60GB

My current system isnt cuttin it anymore. I want to buy a new mobo cpu and i will probably need different ram. Here is what I need to get, and I need to get ti CHEAP

CPU - At least 1.3Ghz...

Mobo - Needs to be nice, size doesnt matter too much cause my case can hold about any mobo. I would perfer for it to have USB 2.0 but that is not nessecry. I want it to have intergrated sound and NIC

Memory - I would like to use this memory but since most mobos dont support ECC ram then I need about 512 ram

Vid Car - Not a prority but I want to get a newer one anyway.

If you find a cheap (sub 200) solution post it!

thanks
ryan

What do you think of this?

You're going to need new ram. Most anything above 1.3ghz uses DDR. Good news is DDR ram has dropped in price a lot recently.
512mb for $40

Certainly a new video card is in order too. Your choice depending on what you use the pc for.
I would be looking for a good socket A board with 400FSB this will run chips up to a 3200+. I have a MSI K7N2 and highly recommend it. You can also get a version of this board with onboard video but I believe it only runs at 333FSB not 400.

Buy whatever cpu you can afford, lots of good AMD chips in the $40-70 range.

Well, it's not sub-200, but it's darn close at $218. At monarchcomputer.com, you can get an Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe, an AMD Sempron 2600+ (333 MHz FSB), and 512 MB of DDR RAM (400). They will also pre-test it for you. However, I would recommend going to Socket 754 or Socket 939 if you want an Athlon 64. Also, for videocards, I would would go with a NVidia (MSI) 5700 for $120 or a NVidia 6600 for $170 (256 MB). For a total price of 338 or 388, it's a pretty good system, assuming you don't want to play new 3D games on it.
