Just a thought....

It may be cheaper to get a replacement motherboard and a 1GB of DDR RAM to stick in that Dell.(even if the replacement mobo is another dell...)

I have a Dell and it's not that easy to just replace the MOBO as they are made specifically for Dell. I have had very good luck with Ebay and rambus

Well since they must be purchased in pairs, and the best price I have found is about $430, I've decided to take over my wife's computer.

Like i said before, see if you can ebay a working Dell pull that uses DDR memory, that would be a decent alternative.

I definetely agree, Rambus is too expensive to bother with the large sizes, its cheaper to get a whole new board and PSU with Ram then to get 2 x 512 sticks
