Price Check

OK, I've pricewatched, googled, checked EBAY etc...

here's the item

Sony Vaio PCG-9401 Laptop aka PCG-F630(edited info)

CPU ID program IDs the PROC as a k62-550, WINMe as a K63+

HDD is 20 Gb, with 256 Mb RAM(I think part being used as video ram),CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive, floppy,2 PCMIA, built in modem, other standard external conmectors.

Battery DOES NOT HOLD a charge.

Some scratches on the underside of the case, a few minor scratches on the top of case,NO DEAD PIXELS

Would include powerbrick, hp external burner 8200 series I think.

What would be a fair asking price for this lappy?

TIA Max_C

$160 to $210

OR

with good screen
notebook case
drivers disk
good hinges
no cracks
working latch
clear audio
OS disk
software disks

Then perhaps $250 shipped

Not to say you could not get someone to pay more
"The battery thing really hurts the price"
Nothing worse than a portable with a leash.

Might try EBAY to get a good battery

You might pull $350

Then again you did ask here at resellers, where we see great deals every day.

My new Dell
celly2GB,dvd/cdrw,20GB HDD,256DDR,XP, LAPPY cost $525
shipped after rebate?

I hope this helped.

Does it still run with the dead battery? My older Sony lappy won't....Low capacity batteries cost $179.00. High capacity cost around $230.00...

Runs perfectly. The major issue is the dead battery. It has a few very light blemishes on the outside cover, nothing that could be called a gouge type scratch. Original CD's would be included of course. This machine was actually very lightly used, and the LCD was replaced under warranty, when a row of pixels went dead.

The lid, locks, no broken hinges or anything like that... all the covers for the ports are there, it has a built in floppy, CD/DVD ROM as well. The burner is an external parralell port type, built in 56k Modem.

My cousin is just looking to sell because he plans on upgradeing to a new one.

Thanks for all the help, Max_C
