WTB Athlon cpu and mb

I have a HP Pavilion 4440 desktop pc that was given to me by my father-in-law. He cannot find the recovery disk and i am unable to locate the drivers for the mb. I am looking for an inexpensive athlon mb with cpu and fan to replace mb and cpu in unit. This unit will be just be a fool around system so I am looling for cpu in the 1400 Mhz and above range. I will be away Saturday but will try to respond to any post on Sunday.

Hey Tom,
If you type in the model number at hp's website you should be able to find all the drivers you need, unless the mobo's smoked, or really slow, i wouldnt buy a new one, i would just reformat and visit hp's website, might save ya a few $$

I tried hp's website. found all drivers except mb. Its a asus prorietary mb

Like they said, post the MB.

My old HP system had a ASUS K7M MB in it... And that thing is still running...
