The reason being that on my external HD case, it says it's 5400RPM, if there's only 7200RPM model, then good for you
Sorry, but I am missing something here (I don't really need the drive and case, but somebody will need to make sense of what you are saying as well as myself).

What is it about 5400 rpm VS 7200 rpm?...and which is it you have?..5400 or 7200?

alright, let me clear this up, on my external HD, as you can see from the picture, it says it's 5400 rpm, however, from what I can find from Maxtor's website and all other online stores, it looks like there's only 7200 RPM version, it's like the 5400 RPM version never existed!

Personally, it's still plenty fast for me, for a DVD (4.3Gb), it took me about 3 Mins to move it to this Maxtor external HD (which is also what I am getting for my other 7200 RPM HDs, so actually I am really curious if it's a misprint on my drive label????

Just in case you don't know, the 5400 RPM vs 7200 RPM, of course, 5400 runs slower than 7200 RPM, which also means the performance/ loading speed is effected. However, the 5400 RPM does generate a lot less heat than the 7200 RPM HD, so there's good and bad about the HDs, just depends on what you need

Anyway, hope that explains your question, Bovon

Thanks again for bring it up

and remember, the price is NEGOTIABLE!!

You've already got this drive listed in this thread

It can't be in both.
