Re: Re: FS: Lots of Computer Hardware!

LOL, well the system works, but those 2 parts don't.

Here's the story of the non-working parts:

Heatsink "fell" off of the CPU under full-load.
Instantly fried CPU and took the motherboard along with it.

But, I'm not 100% sure if the motherboard works or not.
The fans still start up and everything. A man at a local shop said it was fried, but might have just been trying to get me to buy a new one.

The motherboard is yours for $3 + shipping!

The board has no burn marks, or blown capacitors. The only thing physically wrong is one of the lugs on the CPU socket is slightly chipped. If you can manage to get the board to work, a 3-clip heatsink will be able to fix the lug problem.

BTW, maybe there's a way I can test it to see if it works or not even though I don't have a working CPU to put in it?

I heard you can somehow get to the BIOS screen even with no CPU in it?

You could get something like this but it will cost a little.

Thanks.

But, do you know if that's true? Can you get into BIOS even with no CPU?

without a cpu it won't post, so a diagnostic card that checks the post is worthless, how does a heatsink just fall off?
