Desperate for WD 120 please look

Hi all, my RAID array just failed

The controller board on one of the drives WD1200BB burnt up. I'm seeking another to try and recover my lost data. Please take a look at any 120 WD's you have laying around and see if they are similar to mine. I'm attaching a scan of my dead drive. I have 2 more but both are different revisions

Please let me know if you can help. Thanks.

you wont be able to recover your data if you are only using 1 of the drives but you will need another one if you are planning on using the array with the old drive that didnt fail

I have one good drive and one drive with a bad board. If I swap it with a good board, I *might* get my data back. I'm willing to take that risk. Anybody have one they want to sell?

Isn't the idea of RAID to protect data if one of the drives goes down? I know it depends on which type of RAID you use.

This is why off site, up to date backups are still important. I hope you manage to get the data back though as I once remeber where I work the off site managed backups failed.

RMA is recomended, onece you remove the board, you can't RMA the drive as you will have voided the warranty.

I don't know if you should RMA. if you were to RMA, wouldn't they just send a refurbed HD back, not necessarily the one you sent in?
