Video Card

Lookin for a more up to date VideoCard for my PC currently runnin Geforce2 mx440. Any deals out there or anyone selling a used one? let me know please.

If I were you I would spend my money on an ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128MB. In my opinion its the best video card out there for that price. Its also a great option if you're planning on using the video card for the future. Its a good investment.

As of now i just built a new pc but took my old video card out cus i ran outta money. i am gettin my tax return this week though so i figured id get a video card. I mostly play Everquest/WC3/CallofDuty and plan on playing World of Warcraft.

Im running
Atholon Xp2500+barton
512mb DDR 3200 400
60g Maxtor HD
Abit NF7 MB

and this janky GForce2 mx440 :Lp

Most of those games don't need anywhere near the speed of a 9800 Pro. A cheap 5700 or 9600 will be more than enough.

Yes a radeon 9700 or 9800 Pro would be a good choice. Both are DX9 cards. www.newegg.com has the 9700 for about $190 and the 9800 for about $220. If i was you I wound't buy used like on ebay. Unless they come with a good warranty. You never know what kind of shape the card will be in. IMO not worth trying to save a few bucks and buy used PC parts. Again just my opinion.

Its still a good investment for future reference in my opinion, and the prices between the video cards arent that big, at least not here. IF you can find the Radeon 9500 Pro or the Radeon 9700 Pro, then those are really great cards.

Wait to buy one of those when the new generation ATi and nVidia cards come out. The prices will surely drop.

the new nvidia cards will be coming out this month. i believe towards the end.
