FS:External hard drive (firewire)

This is a Maxtor External hard drive storage unit. This is basically a kit for an external hard drive. Includes everything EXCEPT a hard drive... so to make this clear THIS DOES NOT COME WITH A HARD DRIVE, but its very simple to place one in here. It originally came with a hard drive, but I've since then taken it out because I wanted another internal.

Included:

Original packing, documents, drivers (works with PC and MAC)
the actual external device enclosure
firewire connection
power connection

So all you need is your own hard drive (any will work) and of course a Firewire connection in the back of your computer! (if you dont have one I've seen them for $20)

All this was originally $299 with the hard drive, but of course I don't have the hard drive anymore, and this is used now.

I really would like to sell this for $100, or if you'd like to trade for something similar in price let me know.

Well, since you asked, i will tell you that they can be purchased new for around $40. That is, without a hard drive in them, but firewire cases.
I just bought one from a forum member for $20.

bump for you because you took my post the right way, only trying to help you out and telling you the truth.
You can buy these things all over the forums and retail websites for $20 to $50, depending on the chipset inside.
So you can expect offers in that range i suspect.
I am pretty certain that maxtor boxes have the oxford911 chipset which is about the best chipset for these boxes.
