A7N8X deluxe memory ?

A7N8X Deluxe ver. 1.04
Athlon 2800 barton core 333mhz front side bus
Will pc3200 400mhz work ? or do I need to drop down to pc2700.

PC3200 will work because DDR is backwards compatible, although it will only run at 333 instead of 400 (unless you overclock). If you plan on doing any overclocking, then you'll want to go with the PC3200.

Doh ! I thought that Memory did best when matched FSB, not to CPU speed....

Hence, if the FSB can be set to 400, than the Memory needed is 3200 to match speeds.

P.S. Of course, nice to have all three set to same planet

You can run the memory at 400Mhz and the CPU at 333Mhz with this board. If you do it right, you might actually be able to run the Barton at 400Mhz. Just need some good cooling.

note that u have to set the feature in ur BIOS to "sync" mine came with the actual spedd so the mem was faster then my cpu bus
