Read this if you have a Actiontec 1524 DSL Gateway

I have a question. I got Qwest DSL w/ MSN Premium. I told them i wanted to network so they sent me out a Actiontec 1524 DSL Gateway with a built in router. It has a NAT but i want to take it off because i am tring to run a webserver. Qwest Puts me on hold for about an hour and disconnects me . DOES ANY1 NOW HOW TO TAKE THIS NAT OFF!!!!!!!!!!

I realize your frustration, but refrain from being profane.

I believe the 1520 model command set is similar to the 1524. Read the sections on port forwarding and NAT.

Launch your "Actiontec Gateway Configurator", then go to advanced setup, on the left side of the screen click on NAT, it gives you an option for turning it on or off.

Good luck.

After you turn off NAT wouldnt you have to give your comp a static IP address?

Also, the disk they sent you has a PDF file on it for an instruction manual, read it. It'll tell you everything you need to know.
