SP2 for XP is out soon, interested?

Check this out. After reading the article are you interested or anxious for SP2 for XP to be released? Do you think you are going to install it or are you afraid of unknown major bugs and complications, same thing that happened to SP1 when released? I am not sure yet, I think the better firewall is a great idea, and finally a pop-up blocker for IE. But besides that its not that exciting, I mean yes there are going to be a huge amount of security fixes and bug fixes, etc which is great, but not that exciting, get my point?

I think I'll let a few of the corporate machines here "take one for the team" before I installl it on my home computer.

Honestly, I'd like to know how much new DRM is going to be included in this SP as well.

I always install the latest updates/SPs and never have a problem...

I always keep up with the lates drivers/updates to everything.

I am looking forward to installing SP2.

I wouldn't hesitate.

besides, I would back up everything before I do anything... just in case.

I heard that! Even at work I'm never the first one to install any new diagnostic software. I always wait to see if anyone whines about having trouble first.

I used to think "I'm the advanced user in this group, I should be the first to do the upgrades." Then I later decided if I was so advanced, why am I volunteering to be the guinea pig?

I usually lean toward caution when it comes to "major" upgrades, but like DroopyDale, I download and install the newest critical updates and have yet to encounter a problem. I was still using Windows 98SE when I read about the problems with SP1 for XP. I may not be the first to try out the new SP2 when it arrives, but I'm sure I won't wait too long, especially if the reports are favorable.

Yes, I think the best thing to do when its been released is to wait since you can encounter issues. I didnt with SP1 but if I do then its not going to be any fun at all.

Yes, but will it work with the Corporate Edition of XP? j/k

But yeah, it looks like Microsoft may be able to use Windows and Security in the same sentence after SP2, although this feat probably belongs to Longhorn. I'll install it, but that means another comp of mine gets a full install of Linux.
