I thought that the thorton had 333 fsb instead of the thoroubred's 266 but I was looking at newegg and they say that it is 266 fsb. The customer reviews did mention the core being bigger in turn running cooler.

Its (thorton) bigger cause of the extra l2 that is turned off. The space for it is still there. The core is still really .13 (small factor) its just larger due to the cache chip space. So really-it wont help much. Being larger in that way-that is. Go with a barton and 333fsb. No reason not to with the 2500+ being $90 retail.
