SPYWARE,,, YIKES!!!!!!

I'm looking for a spyware program, that happens to be free to try. I have found a couple that find it, and the finds, alraming, I need to just do it once.
Anyone have any ideas?

Spybot - Search and Destroy is an excellent program against spyware, and use it together with Ad-Aware, already mensioned above. HTH's

I all ready use Spybot, and I agree it is excellant.
But... everytime I go to Update it. The app stops responding and locks the computer up. This has happened on other computers as well.
Has anyone else seen this?

did you choose a different source to download the updates?

this happens to me sometimes, and i just come back later to do it.

yeah, it locks up on me if I don't choose the mirror. I guess that EU mirror must be down or something. I choose a US mirror and never had it freeze.

I was just doing it by, "Search for update" then "download updates" in the program

Yes but before you start downloading the updates in Spybot you can choose a mirror from where you want to download the updates from. Is happens to me regularly and its really annoying. My system just freezes. Here you have an attachment to understand better of what we are talking about. HTH's
