I have an Asus A7N8X mobo and I remember reading somewhere that the batteries on them sometimes died pretty early. Does anyone know if this would make your PC no longer work?
I came home from work the other night and went to turn on my monitor and I got a no signal detected. My PC was on so I did a reboot after trying to move the mouse around and various keys on the keyboard with no luck.
It would not post in fact all I have is a black screen . I tried resetting the CMOS with no luck either. I tried swapping the video card into my wifes PC and found that not to be the problem. I have tried messing with the memory...removing a stick, swapping slots, etc. My brother is bringing his PC over so I can try swapping processors and see if that is the problem. After that if still no luck I will be about out of ideas to try. If you guys can think of anything else for me to try please let me know. I am getting kind of frustrated.
Well I just swapped my processor into my brothers PC and the bad news is that is the problem The good news is that it was a retail CPU so it is under warranty Well now I am off to AMD's website to see what I have to do to replace it.
