Food Starting a Build

Hey guys,
Tomorrow I will be recieving a HP computer for free from someone I know from work. So I might just fix the darn thing up and have another computer(already have four). I dont know the condition on the system yet, but as sonn as I get it I'll need some opinions on what sort of hardware I should get. If it would help I'll post some pics on my progess, sorta like a diary I suppose. I'll post the pics tomorrow when I get the computer. Peace!!

We could probably start speculating (deviously, with drool, of course) if you can give some basic specs on the machine so we can kind of get a "generational" impression of the computer.

This will help for getting an idea of what that particular generation of mobo can handle as far as memory, processor, socket interfaces, etc. etc.

If you want to get started with something right away, go ahead & stroll on down to your local Home Depot 'cuz I'm sure somebody is gonna want you to paint it neon green........(juuuuuuuuust kidding!)

Well, basically using it for the internet, games, and music. I never used Linux before. Is it any good? When I get the case open then we'll see what we're dealing with.

I dont know for sure. Its probably Intel. And maybe Pent III. If its a really crappy board and processor,I'll just buy new ones.
