OC'ing 2500+ not stable!
I have a brand new 2500+ on my Abit NF7-M (good for oc'ing) with 512mb pc3200 ram. Overclocking to 3200+ speeds with stock voltages wouldnt boot into windows, but after raising them it went well.
however, whenever i play medal of honor (to test the stability) it won't play more than 20 seconds without crashing. I've gone as far as up to 1.775V for the core and 2.7 for the ram. I even put the settings to "aggressive" for better overclocking but I still can't seem to get it fully stable. I've heard that I shouldn't go up to 1.8V because that's too dangerous. CPU temp is at 46 when I'm playing MOHAA, so not too bad.
I'm using the SLK-900A with an 80mm Antec fan.
Should I go with higher voltages or what's wrong?

What is your FSB setting?
What video card and video drivers are you using?
Going to 1.8v should be fine. Just watch your temp and take baby steps. "Aggressive" ram settings will actually make it less stable if it is the ram that is causing it to crash.

I'm pushing the FSB from 166 to 200
onboard video on this motherboard (NF7-M)
i'm not sure if its the ram causing it to crash, but when playing the game the screen freezes and the sound (in the game) just keeps repeating itself.

as stated, agressive timings for ram places mopre strain on the ram. set the ram to spd(standard ram settings) and test it then

it also might be the onboard video not likeing it , tone it down a bit and when you get your video card then try it . i have heard that onboard video don't like to go that high .

If its NForce2 it shouldn't matter. the board is rated to run at 200, so it should be the CPU at fault.
tone down the speed a bit. Put it up in small steps and stress it at each one. The NForce2 systems have locked PCI/AGP clocks so the only thing being upped is the CPU/RAM speed.
On the other hand;
If the temp is stable, you can try 1.8v, You don't really need to worry unless it goes over 55/60c. You've got a decent cooling setup on there, so I'd have a go.
Finally, there's no need to up the RAM voltage if you're running it at 200mhz. Its rated for that, and that in turn may be causing your instability. Put it back to default. Also set your ram timings back to default.

ok, so it's safe to go up to 1.8v if my temps are ok? if my temps are still good, how high CAN i go?

Your temps are really wack - I don't think you applied the thermal paste well enough. The heatsink and fan you use are great performers, but what's weird is I have a 2500+ as a 3200+ with an Asus A7N8X Deluxe (nForce2), and I run my Coolermaster XDream's fan pretty low and still run at 32c idle, but it can go to 42 under intense games of Counter-Strike (cough).

yeah, i noticed it was pretty high for that heatsink and fan. i have another computer with the same stuff and its in the 30s. I used AS5 this time though instead of as3. would that make a difference?
