administrator share =c$

Hey Guys,

I recently reformatted my computer, and now i am getting an error of "Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer." when trying to access the administrator's share from a remote computer [\\computer ip or name\c$ from start, run]. It worked before i formatted and i guess when i re-installed everything on my computer something went wrong or i changed a setting. I searched microsoft's site and google and some other search enginges iwth no success. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

PS. i am using windows XP pro...with all the service packs installed.

Instead of the computer IP, have you tried the computer name?

Is this on a domain or a workgroup?

Make sure you have a user of the same name/pass on both client and remote PC

Ok i just figured it out,

When you have the guest account enabled the share will not work. So for future reference remember that. I just wish microsoft would post something like that, otherwise i could of been blue in the face trying to figure it out.
