good inexspensive memory

I am looking for 1gb (2x512) of some decently priced memory that will proform. I will probably not be over clocking but if i do it will be minimal so if that helps. Would something like this be worth it. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=147&depa=0
As it is in my price range.

I think he's looking for opinions/recommendations.

You should tell us what type of Mobo you have if you want a informed opinion.

Ebay? For memory like that? No thanks.

I'd stick with Newegg. Problems with computer memory will drive you mad. Stick with a good known manufacturer and a good known vendor I say..

ST,

I have bought mem of ebay many of times with no problems. Unless you have had bad experinces, then you shouldn't
put down ebay in such a way I have always had only good things happen at ebay. Just be sure to find out as much as possible about the item, and the person selling it

Good choice. Geil's pretty good. and yea, stick with DDR400 RAM.
At http://www.ocarena.com/articles/ddr_ratio/ratio1.htm it looks like there's no pt getting DDR433 / DDR466 / DDR500 modules. Even when overclocking they seem to offer only marginal performance increase at 1:1 ratio.

How come no one has mentioned Crucial? Their Micron RAM is reliable, albeit not with the 2-2-2 CAS latency of the fastest Corsair or Mushkin.

Oh, and for high-performance stuff I'd go with the top-end Mushkin line.
