Win98 always asking startup mode

A friend of mine brought his Gateway notebook to me hoping that I would be able to figure out why every time he tries to start it up, it goes to the screen where it asks which mode to start in. Neither of us can figure it out. There wasn't a whole lot of time so I don't know too much else about the system but he did say that the problem first occurred after he restored back to Win98 after trying XP. Whether they are related or not, we don't know. Anyone have any ideas?

It's been a while since I used 98, but I think TweakUI can help you with this. Not sure, I know the problem and it's very simple to fix, but I forgot at the moment. Go to Microsoft's site and get TweakUI, try that.
