PC keeps resetting, getting strange message.

Hi guys, maybe you can solve this problem, my PC sometimes resets 4 times, sometimes once, sometimes 10 times, until it finally loads in windows. I can'tunderstand what's wrong with it. It tells me some kind of message, as if I've installed new hardware and waits 30 seconds to try booting up again.
Could it be that my power supply has become weak?
I tried formatting my hard drive and when reinstalling got this IRQ no less error several times until it finally let me install. I can't figure what it is.
any ideas?
thanks guys!

First, have you tried disabling all memory caching/shadowing in the BIOS? In rare carses this can cause the dreaded 'irq no less or equal' error.

Next, you may have a damaged memory module. I recommend running MemTest to check for possible memory errors.

http://www.memtest.org/

Using the third installer, MemTest will automatically create a boot floppy for running the tests.

If an error is found, then you will need to either remove or replace the malfunctioning stick of memory, preferably with a stick of quality memory from a brand-name manufacturer like Corsair, Crucial/Micron, PNY, etc.

Good Luck,
Robert Richmond

I tried both of rob's suggestions a few weeks ago when I was having simliar problems. though the memory test came out ok, I still thought it was a problem with one of the memory sticks. so I had to resort to trial and error. sure enough, one of the memory sticks was causing the problems...funny thing is that it was a corsair while the other generic brand stick is still running fine.
