AGP mechanical and electrical specifications...anyone knows where to find this info?

Hello,

Does anyone know where I can find information and diagrams for the mechanical and electrical specifications for the AGP slot.

The Username "Target" provided the following link http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub.../PCI_Info.html for PCI slots which I found very informative, but I would like to know more information about the AGP slot.

I would like to know (by visual inspection) of the AGP slot if it is a 2x AGP slot, 4x AGP slot, 8x AGP slot, etc.

Thanks to all the reply.

Ismael

You can commonly indentify the level of AGP support by the northbridge controller of the motherboard chipset.

However, the physical indentification technique is also possible. I recommend saving/bookmarking this link....

Hope this helps,

Thanks, but how do you identify...

Thanks for the reply but how do you do the following:

"You can commonly indentify the level of AGP support by the northbridge controller of the motherboard chipset."

Indentifying AGP revision levels via the chipset northbridge controller is more or less an experience-related ability.

I have memorized specs for about every popular chipset from VIA, SIS, Intel, ALI, Serverworks, etc. over the years.

I am sure some site probably has a condensed list of popular chipsets, though I have never looked since I had to memorize the information for my profession anyway.
