just warning AIM users. i was sent a new aim virus by 4 of my friends, it sends a link to a supposed news website, where it says osama was captured, but you have to download the plug in to see the story, if you download the plugin it sends itself out to other people

sorry if this has been posted before, but it seems to have just hit my friends today.

also, i do not know if this causes any other problems besides spreading itself

no known damage yet besides spreading itself to others.... doesnt mean there isnt any though

check your profile, did it write over it?

im kind of confused how it is spreading itself, if you had to click on the link yourself. are you saying your friend did not send out the instant message?

it sends a message with a link, the link takes you to the site above where it asks you to download the news player applet, and if you click ok, it will go to all of your buddies...

http://www.buddylinks.net/support.php

here is the fix

also someone else sent this to me

1) Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add Remove Programs

2) Remove the three programs: PSDT Messaging Integration, PSD Tools Channel Up and Buddylinks (if listed) by highlighting them and choosing remove.

3) Go to C:\Program Files\buddylinks.net and delete the folder buddylinks.net.

4) Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\PSD Tools and delete the folder PSD Tools.

5) Reboot your computer.
