Welcome to techimo.

Try E: F: Or G: for setup.exe.

Cheers!

Send a message via ICQ to crouse
d:setup.exe
e:setup.exe
f:setup.exe
g:setup.exe

if your looking for a drive.....

you can also type

d:

then you should have a d: prompt

then typing

dir will show you the contents of the d drive...... if it's the cd drive..... then it should show you the contents of the cd. Your cd drive could be one of a couple letters depending on how it's setup.

one you find your cd drive you can type setup.exe ....... and your installation should start.

Welcome to TechIMO!!

Try going into the BIOS and set the CD as the first boot device.

Then with the CD in it should start automatically without you having to type anything.

Misc

Hi Bill, Crouse,

I would like to thank you both so very much after following your instructions i managed to install windows xp i dont think ive ever been so excited it was a great experience.
Bill the reason i formated my husbands pc in the first place was because we used to both use it till i got one and it had a lot of wear and we never really looked after it that well the more books we read or mags should i say the more we learnt but since my husband had a stroke he cant remember how to do the things he used to so im left to it now i am computer mad we are both 39 so still young enough to learn i have now got a virus checker and a fire wall his pc seemed to have so many problems i thought it best to start again as we use mine now i wanted to clean his with nice new windows for our kids to use and thanks to you all i did that.
I still have one problem though i cant get the modem working but i worked out that it is probably too old for windows xp as we have had it a few years now.
Sorry for rambling thanks again so much you are life savers.
