They will work fine at the slowest speed of the two sticks ..

In your case the PC2700 RAM should run at 133MHz FSB because the PC2100 stick will not be able to reach 166MHz easily, if at all.

Usually no .. you don't have to change any setting ..
But to be sure, just enter the BIOS and make sure that the memory speed is running by SPD, which is the CPU FSB speed, or make the memory manually run at 133MHz ..

I'm using 2X 512MB PC2700 and 1X 256MB PC2100 at 133MHz without any problem or instability issue ....

also one more thing i need help

i just built a PC for my friend and he had a dvd writer and a dvd rom in the system we built.

what i want to know is, the data cable which is used for the HDD and cd roms, can i do this, i use 1 data cable for both dvd rom and dvd writer and hard drive or what.

what do u suggest.

IDE 1 is the data cable i am using, i read some where that u shouldnt really do that so what do i do.

connect on data cable with the HDD to IDE 1

and then a second Data cable to both Dvd drives to IDE 2

and what is the slave setting on the drives

on his system there is 1 HDD, and 2 Dvd Drives.

i know that the hard drive is primary master slave

then what

should the dvd writer be secondary master slave

and the dvd rom secondary slave

can u help me again.

You should use 1 cable for the HDD and 1 separate cable for both optical drives.
Don't put the DVD with the HDD on one cable because that will slow down your HDD speed.

Usually i prefer to put the writer as a master and the reader as slave.

Your HDD should be master now because you have only one, the secondary IDE2 can take two drives one master and one slave.

In your case its really simple, just do as follows:

Primary IDE Channel : 1 HDD
Secondary IDE Channel : 1 DVD-RW (master) + 1 DVD-ROM (slave)

The master slave jumper setting is usually printed somewhere on the drive ..
You should check it before changing the jumper setting, so you can be sure that you're doing the right thing ...
