Which is better?

or

I have been going to LAN parties every month and lugging my Chieftec Tower around is quite cumbersome. I can get my hands on a cheap used 2400+ which I know will work in either of the above. However for a little more I can buy the 2500+ with the Barton core. Would there be a huge difference between the 2 processors in either board? Also which board would you choose and why? I ask the second question b/c other than FSB I see no real difference between the 2 boxes/boards. Anyone own one of these that has OCed there processor( i.e. 2500+ upto 3200+)?

i have the g2 and it is nice . i have overclocked it alittle but my memory hold me back so i can't say much about the overclocking on it .i have a 1800 @ 187mhz thats all i can get outta the pc2700 thats in it .

but i can tell ya they run warm , even with the heatpipe setup . so my advice would be to run the fastest cpu out the box instead of overclocking . unless you mod it with a fan on the side to draw air in or in the 3.5 bay instead of a floppy or card reader and a slot fan in the pci slot you don't wanna overclock in them . they get really warm . at full load i have seen mine go to 63c , mind you that was in the summer at full load and the sun hitting it thru the window .

the onboard video will work but if your doing FPS games u will want to add a video card . and the high end cards add more heat . i used the onboard it was for everquest and it does ok in there , not great but ok .

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the bigger cache that the Barton has over the T-Bred gives it an advantage in games.

which is reflected by the higher pr rating given to bartons with a lower clock speed than the tbreds. As in a higher clocked tbred comjpensates for lack of cache with more clock cycles

i could be wrong but i don't think the cache really comes into play when gaming . i think it is more used in business software and software like photo editing .

that is why the early celerons with no cache were so great when they were overclocked .

but i could be wrong am i ?
