Im not sure what topic to put this in so i will just stick it here.
So i just buy a new Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro a couple months ago and want to test out how good of graphics and stuff it has so i dl the Farcry demo.
So after the dl i load of the game (so far all is working well) I then proceed into setting all the graphic settings to high. I start playin the game and BAMM ARTIFACTS. So i open up the case and touch the vc and and its burnin. I fugure its overheating so i grab a case fan and position it over the backside of the gpu. I get back into the game and BAMMM no artifacts. WTF i mean i dont even have it o'ced and i have plenty of circulation. Why would ittstart over heating on me. Anyway the next day i start up the demo and proceed to play my saved game but instead the whole screen is messed with tearing and artifacts so i cant even play. I was wondering of my card was messed so i load up Max Payne 2. It works fine.
So i try it on my other computer with a FX 5600 and a P4 2.0. By the way my comp with the 9800pro also has a P4 2.0. So i install the demo on the other computer. I then set all the graphic crap the medium and proceed to play the game. BAAM the computer restarts. I know there is no way that the gpu is overheating because its an MSI card with a copper heatsink and it isnt even o'ced.
I have no clue what is wrong. Both computer have the newest graphic drivers from ATI and Nvidia so thats not the problem.
I want to buy a gpu cooler for my Radeon but before i do that i want to now WHAT THE HELL IS GOIN ON IS IT MY VIDEO CARD OR IS IT THE DEMO. THIS IS REALLY PISSIN ME OFF.
Yo, it's an early demo release so it's probably a little unstable at the moment. If there's no artifacts in other games then your card should be fine then. It's just the software, but thats just my opinion...
